St Barnabas is a beautiful church in the West End of Morecambe.
We welcome everyone to our church, whether you believe in God or not.
Our parish centre is home to the Morecambe Bay Foodbank, Morecambe Homeless Action, and a number of other local charities.
We currently have no heating in church, and we are about to spend more than £50,000 on repairs to the heating system.
We are facing extra unexpected cost due to the large amount of asbestos which was discovered in the boiler rooms under the church. This is an extra bill of £10,000 which we were not expecting.
Christmas is an important time for the church and the West End. We are desperate to get our heating fixed in time for Christmas, so that we can open out doors and offer everyone a warm welcome.
The extra cost of removing the asbestos will all but drain our parish funds. The only way we can remain open is through the generous giving of our congregation and the wider community.
