As a passionate life-long Labour Party activist, I am dedicated to making the party accessible, approachable, and engaging for all parts of our movement - and our communities. I believe Labour representatives are at their best when they are rooted in the communities they serve. That is why I am looking to be your Labour candidate for the London Assembly in Havering and Redbridge.
I cut my teeth in community-based activism by working with tenants, residents associations, and chairing Sure Start programmes. In Newham, I served ten years as a councillor, deputy leader, and deputy cabinet member for customer services before relocating to Redbridge, where I was born and raised.
I know what it means to fight a tough campaign - and win. I unseated Keith Prince in Barkingside, winning it for Labour for the first time in 50 years. I’ve kicked Tories off the council, now I need your help to kick the same Tory out of City Hall. Our residents need a Labour voice in the London Assembly to fend off the worst effects of austerity, which has blighted our lives for a decade.
If you can, I’m asking you to spare a few pounds to help my campaign. I truly believe that together, Labour can win Havering & Redbridge for the first time, and we can take our voice to City Hall, where I promise to stand up for our communities.
All contributions will go on the direct costs of the campaign for the nomination. It will help with the design, publication and distribution of leaflets, and pay for the costs of a phonebank. Every penny helps towards getting a strong Labour voice for our boroughs.
