Masquerade costume variety

Stage One Youth, a multi-award winning community theatre youth group, are rehearsing  to perform the ambituous Phantom of the Opera (Youth Group Production) from  14th to 17th September 2017 in the Desborough Theatre in Maidenhead Town Hall.

The staging of this production is far costlier than any previous productions with costume hire and alterations alone coming in at £3000. If any of you have seen Phantom of the Opera at the theatre or on dvd, you will know the amazing and fabulous costumes that are needed for this musical! Just look at the photo above which gives a flavour of all the different costumes just in the Masquerade number alone.

The young people in Stage One Youth are a team of committed young people from across various schools in the Maidenhead and surrounding area, drawn together by a passion for excellence in musical theatre. They are led by Ursula and Julian Fox, two people who devote hours of their own time to making sure these productions are the very best they can be for these young people. Together with Maggie Kearney, Ursula and Julian have been awarded the coveted NODA Flame Award in recognition for their "inspirational contribution to the pursuit of excellence in theatre."

Stage One Youth have won multiple accolades from NODA, and this year have been in receipt of a grant from The Prince Philip Trust Fund and the Waitrose Community Fund towards the cost of the production. However, these grants and the ticket sales will not cover all the costs, so we are asking for donations, however small, to boost our funds to cover costume hire.

Help us make this a show to remember for both these young people and the audience, and please donate now.

Thank you so much for your support.
