We need to replace a broken stairlift with one that will allow access to our upstairs facilities.

by All Saints Community Centre in Camborne, England, United Kingdom

The Communty Centre is run as a separate charity.

The Centre supports up to 2400 vulnerable people a week from Camborne, Tuckingmill, Pool, Illogan< Redruth and surrounding areas. We provide social, educational, recreational, health and well being, training and other opportunities. Over 44 groups and 90 services are available to provide support to our community. Our Computer suite and counselling rooms, as well as the Live At Home office (a service which supports people over the age of 65) are currently not accessible to many of our users as our stairlift is not operational. The lift also does not meet safety requirements, as it does not operate from the bottom of the stairs to the top, without a transition across a landing half way. In addition it stops at the top stair and the user is expected to get off onto a stair rather than a flat surface. A new stairlift would be designed to complete the ride from the bottom to the top and will go around the corner to allow better disembarkation. It is distressing for guests, staff and volunteers when we unable to accommodate people needing wheelchairs, or with mobility issues, to use the upstairs rooms

We have received some grant funding towards this, but now need to raise some money to be able to complete this vital resource.
