My name is Ella Atkinson-Carr. I have been selected to go to the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019 which is being hosted in West Virginia by the Scouts of America, Canada and Mexico. The Jamboree is a cultural gathering for scouts from all over the world to join, share their different views and discuss environmental problems facing the world.
It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my scouting friends who I am going with, however, in order to fund the trip I need to raise roughly £3,800. This covers my costs and contributes to paying the costs of a Scout from a less well off country to attend too. I have started doing some fundraising activities, such as bake sales, bag-packing in supermarkets and Laser Quest. All of this has helped me so much in raising money, however it hasn't raised enough just yet, which is why I’m planning to walk up Ben Nevis in August this year.
This is a big challenge for me as mountain-walking isn't one of my usual activities but I wanted to aim to complete a challenge outside my comfort zone in order raise money for my cause.
Any donation you can give is greatly appreciated.
