As members of the Ashbourne Sports and Community Partnership we are asking if you can support us in our “Sponsor a Brick” campaign to help in the construction of a new, state of the art, Sports and Community Pavilion on the Recreation Ground in Ashbourne.
The present sports pavilion, originally built by public subscription, is in major need of upgrading and with your help we aim to build a new facility fit for the 21st Century. The Pavilion will become the centrepiece for a project that aims to create a home for sporting excellence in Ashbourne and a community hub for local people that will also provide a much needed facility for youth activities and for local schools to merge teaching programmes with sport.
The present building also includes a Memorial to the people of Ashbourne who died serving the country during the Second World War. Our aim is to bring the Memorial up to date with the names of those local people who gave their lives for our tomorrow, to make it more befitting to the sacrifice they made.
Ashbourne has for many generations prided itself on its Community Involvement and we hope you will feel able to continue that tradition by donating to the Pavilion Project. As you will know, taking on a project of this size requires a dedicated team, but most of all we need support from the local community as well as funds to complete the task in hand. That's why the Sponsor the Brick campaign is so important. It's your chance as a member of the local community to be able to say “I helped build that” and feel a sense of pride.
Thank you to all those who have already showed their support.
