We are seeking funding to re-open the toiltes at the Inch park, increase their accessibility, and raise running costs for Brechin's paddling pool for next summer. Currently there is no toilet provision at the park and this impacts on the publics' enjoyment of the area as there is nowehere to take their children (or themselves) to spend a penny. We have leased the old toilet block from Angus Council but require funds to get the toilets reinstated.
Over the last 3 years we have worked very hard to reinstate Brechin's outdoor paddling pool for the benefit of the town's children. This project received overwhelming support from the community, achieving funding by public vote from YBYC and Tesco Bags of Help to make it happen
In July this year we finally succeeded and had a very successful opening party attended by over 120 children and featured in The Courier newspaper https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/local/angus-mearns/475904/brechins-paddling-pool-reopens-after-three-year-mission/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter. We have already pinpointed ways in which we can reduce our running costs, by reducing our electricity and water bill, but will still need funding to get the pool ready for next summer.
In addition we have leased Brechin's all-weather pitch at the leisure centre and plan to expand our activities by making the pitch available for use to sports clubs, local children and other groups. We would like funding to get a ride-on mower and special brush attachments so we can maintain the pitch properly.
