Leigh Spinners Mill is home to an exciting cultural hub currently in development on Floor 4. Current occupiers include Creative Spin Studios – a collective of artists comprising of nationally exhibited visual and digital artists, educators and skilled craftspeople and makers including bespoke leather work, custom jewellery and a glass etching workshop.
Along with the current residents of Creative Spin Studios, other organisations making the new development their home include the nationally recognised Leigh Film Society, hot off the back of the incredibly successful Wigan and Leigh Film Festival. Stolen Thread productions are also due to commence operations in early 2020, bringing their award-winning pedigree of nurturing and growing generations of theatrical talent to the mill.
Monument Men will also be operating on floor 4, and along with their work in museums across the UK and Egypt will be utilising the space to house and work with an incredible collection from Ancient Egypt, recently secured via a generous loan in partnership with Manchester Museum.
We now need to develop localised and accessible facilities to meet the demand of such a diverse, exciting and dynamic group of cultural organisations. We are currently looking to develop modern, accessible toilet facilities on the floor for people to fully engage with this amazing cultural community, and we need your help to make it happen!
