The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for millions of British small businesses, even more so to us as an amateur sports club.
The club is a not for profit organisation that due to the on site clubhouse, has been able to maintain and improve the current sports facility, allowing for the recent creation of our youth section. In doing so, we have increased the number of visitors to the ground. Whilst COVID-19 restrictions remain, the use of our clubhouse toilet facilities for spectators and parents along with the ability to generate similar income streams previously experienced prior to the pandemic has become increasingly difficult.
As a solution, we aim to renovate our pitch side tea hut/toilet block, previously used several years ago.
The renovation not only provides visitors to our club with improved facilities within the ground but provides the club with the ability to generate a new income stream, increasing the clubs ability to sustain the current business model.
We are looking to renovate the current block includingthe moving of the kitchen area allowing refreshments to be served through a hatch, avoiding the need for visitors to enter the building. The improvements within the kitchen area include new flooring, a new ceiling, the provision of hot water, redecoration throughout and the purchase of several pieces of equipment to allow for the preparation of hot refreshments.
Meanwhile, the current 'out of use' toilets would also be in receipt of new flooring, new ceiling, hot water provision and baby changing facilities.
With an army of volunteers across all teams at the club willing to carry out the non specialist work, we aim to compete the works over the next six weeks, depending on the success of our Crowdfunder.
