Covid-19 has forced the children’s contact centre to close. I am raising money for brand new, easy to clean books for when it can re-open.

The Covid-19 epidemic has forced the temporary closure of the Spalding Contact Centre, run by Children’s Links. I am raising money to buy books and resources for the children to use that are new and easy to clean for when the centre re-opens next month.

The contact centre is a safe and neutral venue for children of separated families to meet with their non-resident parent or other family members. The most important people in the centre are the children. We have age appropriate toys, games and activities and we aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere.  A contact centre is used when parents no longer wish to see each other and have been unable to agree on other arrangements. You can read more on the Children’s Links website here.

“I volunteer at the Contact Centre because of the smiles I see on the children's faces" Rachel - A volunteer at a Contact Centre.

I am lucky enough to have volunteered at the centre myself and it is such an important place for children who otherwise would not be able to see their other parent. Most of the toys are donated second hand and wouldn’t it be lovely to have some beautiful new books and toys for the children to enjoy while spending time with their loved ones?
