Our aim is to cultivate a community which has a lasting, positive impact on the culture of the media industry.
A bit about us
We're Tom and Jaisica, the founders of Soho Media Club. We met at a media & entertainment show in Las Vegas two years ago and quickly discovered a common passion for connecting people.
We share 3 key beliefs: Collaboration, Inclusion and Everyone having a Voice. We saw an opportunity to create a club for those in the production, post-production and distribution community who share our beliefs and want to make the whole industry better.
Collaboration, diversity & inclusion is part of our DNA
We believe in diversity of thought and a growth mindset. By connecting passionate people from across media together, we are engineering serendipity to enable amazing things to happen - whether that is generating new ideas, doing new business or finding new talent.
London’s most diverse networking club for media professionals
Soho Media Club is a member network is designed to advocate collaboration, inclusion and diversity across media production, post-production and distribution.
Since its launch in July 2019, Soho Media Club has attracted a membership of 600+ media professionals from production, post-production and distribution.
Anyone can join the network, regardless of their seniority, position or status. And it is free to join! The only criteria is that you have to be an active media professional, whether that is in film, tv, digital or music.
Monthly meetups - all about people and purpose
The Club is currently underpinned by monthly meetups, in a secret Soho location, the club brings together passionate people with stories to share. Guest speakers take to the mic at each meetup to share personal stories of their careers and experiences in the industry.
We break down the invisible wall between speakers and the audience: Guests are part of the narrative and are encouraged to participate in great conversation.
After each meetup, we'll send video footage, photographs, a podcast and writeup to reflect upon and share.
Soho Media Club wants to make a difference
Co-founder, Jaisica Lapsiwala explains ‘The ability to be agile and think laterally gives you a massive edge over everyone else. By having a growth mindset, where you see the bigger picture, whilst specialising in your own area can have a lasting impact on your career. That’s part of our DNA at Soho Media Club - we exist to create diversity of thought, drive horizontal thinking and encourage people to take a creative approach to tackling problems in our industry.'
Co-founder, Tomasz Witkowski expresses, 'Jaisica and I are proud of this collective and are excited about creating a forum where attendees feel like they can speak up and have a voice. We have seen from our meetups that everyone leaves feeling inspired and reenergised, with new connections to help with their professional and personal development.'
In 2020, our aim is to create a 1-day summer festival. Soho Media Club is breaking down the silos - this festival is not about roles, but about what we can achieve collaboratively in media. Whether you are a technical, creative or commercial player, we are all striving for better content. So, our aim is to bring you together for a day of conversation, ideas and inspiration. Leave your ego and fears at home - just bring positive energy and be open to meet new people.
The money raised will go into creating a unique & engaging experience for all attendees.
Where will your money go?
We have a target of raising £3k in 4 weeks.
We need your support to get the one-day summer festival off the ground and make it a success. You contribution will help towards the set up costs and creating an experience which has lasting positive impact. Your funds will be used in the following ways:
- Creating live event content including sessions, podcasts and live streaming
- Catering and Venue costs
- Speakers & Special Guests
- Marketing expertise and collateral
- Technical operations
Any profit made from the Festival will go back into Soho Media Club to develop inclusion initiatives for our industry.
Your support will help cultivate a community which has a positive impact on the culture of the media industry.
We thank you for your support!
