New stretch target

Oh wow! The more we raise, the more we can do!

With more money we could afford to start having stands at national trade shows.

I can start recruiting volunteers who have their own suitable sled dogs that could be used for thereapy.

We can start including benficiaries in bigger adventures that will have an even bigger impact.

What are we trying to do?

The aim of the crowd funder is to help us expand the work that we do. This will mean offering more therapy sessions, therapy visits and talks. It will also help get recovering service personnel more involved in the working side of Sled dogs. This will be done through treks and expeditions.

Through this crowd funder, we will be able to get our names out there with more educational and promotional work.

Why is this important?

We live in a world where we have instant communication options 24 hours per day. Yet people have never felt so isolated and disconnected from others.

Dogs have a unique ability in helping people connect. Sure it is relaxing to meet a dog, but it goes deeper than that.

When hanging out with a sled dog, I have seen people smile, cry, and laugh, tell them their problems, and feel comforted. I have even seen a person whom could not speak coherently due to dementia say, "what lovely dogs!, I love you”!

How can we make this awesomeness happen?

Sled Dogs As Therapy UK is a 100% non-profit organisation.

To make this work happen, all work done with service personnel and schools is volunteered. I work full time to pay the bills so all my annual leave is taken up doing therapy work.

With a bit of funding we can invest all the money into growing the organisation. This means promotional materials to get the word out, to putting on more sessions with Help for Heroes and going into more schools.
