New stretch target
If we over achieve on our target, we will be able to begin our holistic journey, to purchase other equipment and products.
We are creating a real life working environment and would love to have all the equipment to make this as real as possible!

Hi there and welcome to our page, my name is Meg and I am the project leader for SKILS Style Studio. I work with a group of adults with disabilities from SKILS CIC who aspire to learn skills about hairdressing techniques. The idea came from one of the girls being really interested in hairdressing and wanted to pursue her passion. We got together and decided to create something between us that would-be person centred, fun and relaxed for everyone to enjoy.
This is where I come in… from being a little girl I always wanted to be a hairdresser. I would go with my Nan to the hairdressers every Friday and they would let me sweep up and other odd jobs. Then when I turned 11 years old I started high school and asked them for a job on a Friday night. I loved it even though I started by sweeping, making drinks and washing up. I was so passionate about it that when I left high school at 16 I was offered an apprenticeship. I went on to finish my NVQ in Hairdressing and took some qualifications in holistic therapies. Although I loved hairdressing I found a new calling in life when I started volunteering at SKILS CIC.
I’m so happy that I can share my passion with other people and create this safe, real life working environment, teaching people new skills and growing this project into something special.
