The Silverburn Project
Silverburn is a charity-run park which is undergoing regeneration for the benefit of the local community! The park also works with volunteers who have issues accessing employment and helps to build their skills and confidence.
The Estate
We have 27 acres full of beautiful mixed woodland, grassland and historic buildings with the main attractions being our volunteer garden and café, which aims to deliver healthy eating through our seed-to-plate scheme.
The Cottage Garden
Our cottage garden is currently undergoing a restructure which involves building multiple raised terraces for growing herbs, fruit and vegetables but we need a little more to complete our sustainability cycle and to add something which truly captures the imagination of the local community!
Animals at Silverburn
Many people of Levenmouth remember Silverburn fondly from their youth when they would visit the many farmyard animals in the park and now, almost 20 years on since the animals left, we want to bring some back to Silverburn!
Why we need your support...
We want to populate the cottage garden with a flock of wonderful chickens which will provide eggs to the café kitchen, as well as being a crucial decomposer in our food cycle, by eating all food scraps and turning it back into compost for the garden!
Our Vision
Our vision for the future is for our bountiful cottage kitchen garden to provide many healthy eating options with food that has travelled 0 miles and to provide workshops, training and opportunities for people to work closely with this project!
