New stretch target

If we are successful in reaching our initial target then we will extend the rental period of the unit for a further three to six months. We will also invest any additional funds into activities that take place at and from the unit including Sidmouth Sea Fest, community workshops, general running costs for activities, and in supporting start up businesses by helping with areas of business development including administration, accounting, legal, and marketing as part of Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC.

We will be able to use income raised through pledges made here as match funding for additonal funding from a number of private and public sources.

Project aim

We are raising money to help meet our costs to open a new drop in and information centre in Sidmouth.

You can now donate direct. Due to feedback on the crowdunder campaign we are pleased to announce that you can send cheques or pay by card online via www.sidmouthdrillhall.com/donate and we will add your donation to this campaign.

Or join us on 2nd June 2015 at The Loft, Sidmouth from 7pm to discuss this and more about the Drill Hall campaign. Thank you.

About the project

Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that works to promote a considered, sustainable and inclusive regeneration of the Port Royal area and eastern end of the Devon town of Sidmouth for the benefit of the residents of the town and the wider community. Since 2012 we have run a campaign to save and protect the Drill Hall in Sidmouth, and to bring the building into community ownership for sustainable and responsible redevelopment. We have developed projects and activities since 2012 to promote our vision for the Drill Hall including the Sidmouth Sea Fest event.

We have recently been offered the opportunity to take on a new unit at Libra Court in Sidmouth. Click the link to find where this will be - Libra Court

The unit will be a home for Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC both as a place where we can meet people and discuss our vision for the future of Sidmouth Drill Hall, and to work as a hub for small and start up businesses in Sidmouth whose own aim is linked to the responsible regeneration of the area.

As well as an information and drop in centre, we will have a shop that will sell products from small local businesses that are part of Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC, plus a range of products linked to our own work including the new Sidmouth fishermen's jerseys, the jerseys from our colleagues in Arnemuiden in Holland, Sidmouth Sea Fest t-shirts and much more.

Why do we need the money?

Money raised from the campaign will go towards paying rent on the premises for the first four months.

It will enable us to develop a number of our activities that benefit the community and to focus on looking at other sources of long term funding. This is our first fundraising campaign for Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC.

If we are successful in reaching our initial target then we will look to continue with the fundraising campaign and extend the rental period of the unit for a further three to six months. We will also look to invest any additional funds into activities that take place at and from the unit including Sidmouth Sea Fest, community workshops, general running costs for a range of activities, and in supporting start up businesses by helping with areas of business development including administration, accounting, legal, and marketing as part of Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC.

Please give us your support! This is the next phase in what continues to be a very positive campaign for us all.

Thanks to the kindness of some of the people that we have met and got to know along the way, and have donated items for this fundraiser, we are able to offer you some fantastic exclusive offers here in return for your support.
