We desperately need help with vet bills - our dog Shiva suddenly got ill yesterday, at first we thought she might have had an upset tummy or she might have eaten part of a turkey bone outside our house or chomped a bit of chew toy/bone up and swallowed it, we took her to the vets and they recommended blood tests to check and x-rays but given the price and that we weren't 100% sure it was necessary in case it was a tummy bug we brought her home to keep a close eye on her. Around 1am she was hardly moving and whimpering on the sofa so we got a taxi to the 24 hour vets and she had some meds to see if they made her any better; this morning she was worse, she wouldn't drink, eat, couldn't go to the toilet, was whimpering in pain so we took her to the vets again; after blood tests it showed that her liver has been working extra hard which points to the fact that her body is trying to pass something but having trouble, she's severely dehydrated, has a sore belly and is generally a sad squish. She's currently in the vets overnight on a drip and having meds to get her better but she might have to stay in a few days and we're still not sure of whether she'll need x-rays or more investigations over the next few days. We've been estimated a bill of between £300-£500 which will need to be paid over the next few days on top of what we've spent already.
Currently we have spent:
Vet bills: £280
We both work not amazingly paid jobs and this has already left us in a really bad place financially but we have absolutely no choice but to pay for whatever treatment Shiva needs - we're a pack and we just want her home and better. Daisy is confused and looking for her sister, they haven't been apart for one day since they met. We miss her so much and the house isn't the same without her. Danni and I have only just gotten back on our feet financially and in all aspects of our lives really after a bad year and this has really thrown us off; any amount of money you can give to us would be of great help and we would all appreciate it so much. If we raise more than we need we will donate anything left over to either a local hunt sab group or staffy rescue.
