We did it!

On 15th Sep 2017 we successfully raised £11,025 of £11,000 target with 34 supporters in 42 days

Shimmy Lingerie is a new online lingerie marketplace that adds value to the customers experience through shoppable video. Our revenue model is based on a simple affiliate scheme. One day we'll be a big data company selling consumer insights.

Shimmy is building the largest collection of ‘shoppable’ lingerie videos. We are currently working with 223 premium lingerie, swimwear & activewear brands and are inviting as many brands as possible to get involved, absolutely free of charge. All we ask is that brands send samples of current styles to our video studio, work closely with the Shimmy creative team to create focused video content. Participating brands receive high quality videos that can be embedded in their websites and social media, for free! Brands will be given the opportunity to make their video content ‘shoppable’ through Shimmy Lingerie’s affiliate scheme. Shimmy will be the lingerie  industry's first affiliate scheme.

Shoppable video gives time-pressed, tech savvy millennial consumers a shortcut to the shops. If a consumer can experience a new product as video content, genuine, independent user-generated video content as opposed to more advertising biased brand content then the consumer will build affinity with the brand, faster and easier than scrolling through the brands online store. Consumers want to see a brand in context, in action, that's how they come to understand a brand's values. Shoppable video provides that opportunity. Shimmy knows that one in three millennials have admitted to making a purchase after watching a video tutorial, shoppable videos are revolutionaising a once-passive medium into an instant e-commerce experience.

The great potential of shoppable video will soon lead to widespread adoption. Typically, shoppable video is created as an expensive experiment, or one-off, produced and delivered by a creative agency or production studio. Shimmy is giving lingerie brands the opportunity to develop forward thinking video marketing campaigns, in-line with what the front runners in the fashion world offer with zero production cost.

In April 2017, Shimmy received funding from Virgin StartUp to refurbish our video studio. Virgin absolutely love Shimmy Lingerie's vision and think we can make a real success of the business. We are seeking additional funding to purchase state-of-the-art equipment required to create the best possible video content.
