So very pleased to see that you have smashed your target. Isn't it amazing that so many people around the world think that it is vital to keep knitting alive in the Shaetlands. One day I hope to come and see it for myself x

We, 26 ladies from the Netherlands had a beautiful knittingweekend in the Netherland where we talked about Shetland, Shetlandwool en visiting shetland. And sell old knitting books special for the Peerie Makkers. We called the weekend: "Sallandweekend". So we give the Peerie makkers money and help them!

I have always loved Shetland and fairisle knitting , and next year I am visiting at last for Shetland Wool Week. I can’t wait ! I think it is a wonderful idea to continue the traditions by helping young people learn to knit as your Mums and grandparents did Keep up the good work girls and boys!

My Grandparents were from Shetland and after visiting last year I can see that handing on the fabulous skills is vital. I have even started knitting some Fair isle beanies myself. Wonderful project!

Just a little extra to help you reach your stretch target and to ensure more Shetland youngsters get the chance to participate.

Sharon Hutchings 10th November 2019

I love this idea. Knitting is such a useful skill, and Shetland fibre and knitting styles are unique and should be continued. I hope this gift enables the groups to carry on getting children involved in their heritage.
