Sherrington's Boxing Club

Sherrington's boxing club is a community club that has supported a diverse range of people looking to use boxing as a tool to improve health and develop confidence and life skills in young people.  The club welcomes an adult demographic seeking to improve health; children and teenagers with ambition to compete or use boxing as a hobby outside of school or college; and also people with disabilities.

The founder, Simon Sherrington (a former professional boxer) - has run the club for 16 years, a club that has been open 3 times a week including bank holidays.  This has often been at Simon's personal expense as the sole motivation for him is to be available to anyone interested in improving health or learning about the sport after retiring from professional competition himself 10 years ago.

Last year, Sherrington's Boxing Club became affiliated with the Amateur Boxing Association and some of the children and teenagers now compete against other amateur boxers in  country.  In 2018, the club produced it's first champion with Billy Kennedy winning the Class A 70kg Midlands title.

Sherrington's Boxing Club are now seeking to raise £10k to improve the facilities and equipment at the club to further support the fantastic progression and development of this club in the community as well as some of the young fighters seeking to develop further.  As they do not currently receive any grants or funding, new equipment and often rental of the facilities is at the expense of the coach or goodwill of some of those that attend.

Sherrington's Boxing Club would welcome any kind gesture of a donation and value the support of those in the community.
