‘Shelly In Shock’ is the first in a series of seven Emotional Logic children’s story books that can be used by teachers, parents, carers and social workers as a tool to help children aged 5–9 talk constructively about their emotions.
Why do we need to fundraise?
The Emotional Logic Centre is a UK registered charity who have a passion to see children and young people overcome mental health issues, understand their emotions and thrive in life.
We want to raise money to cover the costs of developing, printing and distributing 'Shelly In Shock' and to give away at least 250 copies to primary schools and families in the South West.
From an assistant headteacher:
‘As a parent, teacher and school leader, finding Emotional Logic has been revolutionary in helping my own children and the hundreds of children I work with (and their families) to make sense of their emotions. It’s brilliant!’
What is Emotional Logic?
Emotional Logic is a conversational skill that can be learnt at any age. We believe that encouraging our young children to understand their emotions from a young age can mean that they grow up with a more developed emotional resilience in order to overcome challenges later in life.
Emotional Logic can also help children who are experiencing anxiety, depression, bullying, self-harm, low confidence, chronic fatigue, bulimia and compulsive or destructive behaviours.
