I am a piper in the Sgoil Lionacleit pipe band and have been for a couple of years. The band has a strong community spirit, it's basically just a big family where we all work hard to help one another and to improve the standard of playing, which sometimes means playing for hours on end. This opportunity for us to travel to Tartan week NYC has given the band a real boost and will give us the opportunity to share our talents with a wider range of people. It will prove to us that anything is possible, if we work hard and pull together. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us on the road to New York, we truly appreciate your generosity.

Wonderful for the members of the pipe band to experience an international event. Great that a small island pipe band is being given the opportunity, thanks to the hard work of the committee members and island community supporting all the fundraising events. Enjoy , have lots of fun and treasure every moment especially marching down 6th Avenue in the Tartan Parade.

I have been apart of Sgoil Lionacleit Pipe Band for about 5 years now and it has been a huge learning opportunity for me! I have gained skills in working with others and contributing to a larger group. We all have a great group dynamic and would love to experience performing in the 'big apple'. It seemed like an unreachable goal in the beginning, but with your help we hope to make this trip happen! Thanks to everyone for their kind support, we could not do it without you!!

Molly Perkins 24th November 2017

I’m a piper in the Sgoil Lionacleit Pipe Band. I have been in the band for just over a year. We all love being members of the pipe band it has taught us all much more than just piping and drumming. We compete in a number of competitions each year Scottish Schools, European Championships and the World’s this gives us a huge buzz. Our successes over the last year have highlighted our small island school in the Outer Hebrides and put us on the map. So, we have a dream of going to NYC and with your help we can get there and take part in the 20th Anniversary Tartan Week Parade. AMAZING! Please donate and Thank you!
