To provide a place where smell, touch and visual stimulation can help provide a much needed rest from constant pain and tiredness

by Richard in Exeter, England, United Kingdom

My partner is now just 26 years old and was diagnosed 4 years ago with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) which for anyone that does not know is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological condition that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. ... Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is also another name for it.

Over the last 12 months she has struggled more and more with her everyday life, cooking for herself, getting dressed and normal things like having a bath or even a shower has become near impossible for her without help. She suffers daily with constant pain (severe), muscle pain with intense physical and mental exhaustion.

I myself have had three strokes, dvt and asthma, more recently I have also been diagnosed with copd and also scarring to both lower sections of my lungs. I've become a full time carer now and take on all roles in the household and also looking after my other half and our 5 year old daughter.

A peaceful relaxing garden for all of us to enjoy would be of immense value to not just myself but to my partner to retreat into and spend some time outside rather than being inside all day. She spends 80% of her time in a wheelchair.

I have already managed to fund a wet room, stair lift and a disabled parking bay to the front of our house but unable to fulfill her request to sort out our garden.

I'm trying to raise £500 to provide plants, flowers, raised beds, water feature and a small seating area
