Team Robonauts have won entry to the 2019 World Educational Robotics championships in China, but need to raise funds to travel there!

We are Robby, Haris and John and we study robotics at STEM Sheffield. Together we are Team Robonauts!

Following a recent trial, Team Robonauts are now UK representatives at the 2019 World Educational Robotics Championships in China. It is amazing we have the chance to go and compete there! This year there will be entrants from 69 countries with 10,000 finalists from the 500,000 children competing for a place across the globe! Check out the video via the link below to get an idea of what we will be doing this year!

We are genuine child robotics engineers and this type of event will give us so much experience and we will learn lots of new skills as a result. We are competing in the 6 to 12 age category, and while there is some limited funding available (courtesy of STEM Robotics, WER and private organisations like Rolls Royce), the government system here doesn't currently sponsor this event, or the people that take part in the championships.

So in order for us to compete at the finals, we need to raise sufficient funds to pay for the costs we face, such as chaperones, visas, flights and insurance.

This is an incredible achievement to be graded as the best in the trials, it's also an amazing opportunity to represent the UK at such a young age in a country with incredible robotics facilities, where robotics education is the norm. The Chinese lead the way in robotics and the UK has this great chance to further enhance the skills and experience of the UK robotics engineers of the future!

Your support and contribution will make a significant difference in making this opportunity turn into a reality by contributing anything you can.
