I am a 26 years old lady, I have always wanted to be a chef, I've been cooking since I was 9, did home economics in secondary school and worked as a catering assistant for couple of years after school. I finally moved to the UK to follow my dream of becoming a chef and started to study and enrolled into apprenticeship programme. I was living my dream and enjoying every bit of it being able to do what I love so much everyday. Shortly after this started to get pains in my ankles and few months later I was on crutches. It didn't stop me from working I kept going even in so much pain and discomfort. I was told I had Tendinitis and unfortunately for me I had to quit as I could hardly stand or walk without support and the insoles were not working. I was devastated and feel into depression. I moved out of the UK and I was home for a while. I am now in a job that I never thought I would be in and I am unhappy as i am only doing it for survival. After three years and the medical team have found a solution to my ankles. I am so happy I will be getting my life back. i have always wanted to own My own catering business and after this second chance I want to put my energy and time into building my own business. I have all I need to do this except the funding. I just want my life back and a chance for my voice to be heard through my cooking. I have started to build my Instagram page @fingerlickingfood . I have my menus all ready to go. All I need is chance to get my self back on tracks and build My catering business like I have always wanted to. Offering food and desserts for occasions. I am still training and taking online classes on how to run a successful business. If I get the funds I will order all the equipment I need and run more social media adverts and spread the word. I know in less than a year I will get where I want to be and beyond. I hope and pray to expand and I know the sky will be my starting point. i have an amazing team of friends and family ready to help and support.
