I met the incredible Linda by chance in a Facebook group. Her family had recently moved here from Spain and through no fault of their own were now about to be homeless. She was 9 months pregnant and their only option was for her, her husband and their two girls to all share a room in a Travelodge.
Her gorgeous baby has now been born and all 5 of them are now in that one room. They are desperately looking for a flat but having been here only 4 months they have no references and are not entitled to any council help. With only one salary and no references they are really struggling to find anywhere.
Her husband works nights in a warehouse and picks up as many extra shifts as he can. He needs to sleep in the day but obviously that's almost impossible. They have no access to a kitchen so no fridge, oven, microwave or kettle. They are living off snack foods and cant cook proper meals.
We at Sebby's Corner have provided them with equipment for the baby for which she was so grateful for but it doesn't feel like enough. We want to do more. We are hoping to raise enough to pay for 6 months rent in a house or flat. I cant imagine living 5 in a room with a newborn and no cooking facilities.
We help lots of families but Linda truly touched me and was in fact the lady who inspired Sebby's Corner in the first place so any small donation you can give would be hugely appreciated.
