About the Sea Gals Channel Relay project

In July 2018 the Sea Gals, six friends from East London aged between 13 and 14  -  Amelie, Eve, Grace, Lucy, Ruby, and Sasha -  will swim the Channel from Dover to Cap Gris Nez in France. Our aim is to raise money for the Child Poverty Action Group, but before this can happen money had to be raised for operational costs.

Our Crowdfunder target of £2,000 was the outstanding amount needed to pay the balance on the cost of the swimming coach, the Channel Swimming Association (CSA) fees and officiator, the fishing boat and crew that will accompany the girls, and the insurance.  The parents contributed what they could to the costs, and the girls are now experts at running bake sales and tombolas!

Now that our operational costs are covered all further funds raised will go to CPAG so we are switching to a Just Giving account to make it easier to give direct to the charity.

Please spread the message about the audacious challenge that our young swimmers are undertaking, and please do direct any potential  supporters to our JustGiving page and to Twitter @SeaGals2018.
