So, as you can see, I've started a Crowd Funding page to raise money to fund the recording of my new album in Spring 2016.
As some of you know, I am an unsigned artist and everything I do is 100% funded by me. Every penny I make usually ends up funding the next EP, gig or pays for phyiscal CDs to be made of my music. I have self funded 4 EPs since 2013 and all of them were recorded by myself in my flat in Manchester. I have managed to get by with the help and favours from some very kind friends of mine with music videos, radio plays, gigs, interviews, reviews and online features.
I have 10 brand new songs ready to get recorded in Limefield Studios in Manchester. The money I raise will pay for five days recording at the studio and will result in my first, full length studio album to be released in Summer 2016.
As is the same for every unsigned artist I know, we do it for the love of it. The unsigned music scene is absolutely massive and when it comes down to the money side of things, we struggle, I know I would give my music away for free if it meant I could keep doing it, but it just doesn't work like that, even though we practically are giving it away for free on Spotify anyway. I feel and I know I am ready to step up a gear in my music career, and do something big.
Major labels throw thousands of pounds at a few big music acts because they know it is a business investment, but the majority of all music is created by musicians like myself who rely on the amazing generosity of listeners and you guys who buy our music, go to our gigs or promote us on the internet.
