SCOTTISH VOLLEYBALL
Scottish Volleyball is in incredibly exciting and challenging times. Our Junior Women's Beach Team have just competed very successfully at the Youth Commonwealth Games and both our Men's and Women's Teams qualified for the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in Australia.
THE SCOTLAND WOMAN'S SQUAD
This fund raising effort is for our Senior Women's Indoor Squad, a group of dedicated athletes who have just spent the last 12 months playing in four European Countries and in eleven full international matches. One of the highlights being a series victory over the English National Team.
HARD WON PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE
Alongside good results , experienced foreign international observors have commented on the progress being made by the team which has been created through the personal investment of hard work, time and money of the players .
YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED
The cost of competing with this intensity in the last 12 months has been £14,000 on top of the financial support from Scottish Volleyball. This £14k has come in the main from the players themselves but also in part from generous help from family, friends and supporters.
FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL PLAYERS
It is the ambition of the group to continue to improve not just for the National Sides benefit but also for the good of the Scottish game and in particular to inspire young players making their way in this great sport.
EXCITING TIMES LIE AHEAD
The team has put together another ambitious programme for 2018 with trips already planned to Italy and England and a further trip is planned to Europe later in the year. This is to ensure that the team can maximise its performance in the 2019 European Championships.
