Hello and thanks for stopping by. I've never done crowdfunding before so not entirely sure how to go about it or how it works, but here's the thing - there's this gorgeous but very very dated as far as interior/layout goes B&B (and poorly decorated/thought trough in the first place) up for sale in Inverinate, Kyle of Lochalsh.
Last year and a half has been rubbish to say the least and the distant future is looking bleak with rules and regulations changing constantly, but if there's one good thing that came out of it - jet setter me finally got to visit Scotland country side. Despite my other half being Scottish we only travelled to Edinburgh and back and only talked about doing an actual road trip for ages. And my god have we been missing out or what, Scotland Highlands and Isles are blooming gorgeous! 'Ringsy' and so New Zealand like, but so much closer to home!
What struck me though is how tourist unprepared Scotland seemed to be. Yep, there's a few gift shops here and there, a distillery or boat tour and a nice place to eat if you book long enough in advance, but really nice places to stay are sooo few and in-between.
So here's a proposal:
Let me clarify on nice places - great view - tick, tick, tick, this one got in in abundance. The rest of the property seems wasted - both bedrooms and the layout are incredibly dated. I have travelled loads before pandemic struck and if I haven't mentioned yet I'm a huge sucker for all the things interior design - nope it doesn't have to cost a fortune and all the furniture come from Eichholtz for the property to feel luxurious.
So the idea is to turn this mediocre looking B&B into something like this:
Luxury contemporary going on rustic vibe yet modern interior, nice terrace, hot tub, outdoor bbq, canoes, maybe mooring for a small boat if permitted by planning etc.
I've been in interior design business for almost 10 years and have access to heavily discounted both new and 2nd hand high end furniture. If I could buy the place outright I would with no hesitation in an instant, unfortunately my other half is heavily tied to SE of England for his job, so here it is - I've got 10% asking price that I'd be more than happy to put down as well as my skill and knowledge. I need another 90% + renovation cost. We could run it 100% as a business, or split it between business and holiday home.
I'm based down South, but I'd be more than happy to travel up/stay to project manage.
