Fundraising Campaign for the Scotland National Korfball Team #TeamScotland #ScotlandKorf

The Scotland National Korfball Team are raising funds and drumming up support towards our attendance at this year's IKF European Korfball Championship in The Netherlands.

Charity Support

In addition, we have chosen to donate 25% of funds raised to Marie Curie, a charity whose work means a lot to members of the squad.

In June 2016 the Scotland National Korfball Team qualified for the Championships at a qualifying tournament in Slovakia. Since then, the National and Development Squads have been training with Head Coach Johan Oosterling and Assistant Coach Bas Harland in preparation. Scotland have a real sense of unfinished business after the last European Championships in 2014, and with a mix of players who competed in that tournament alongside new players who have joined the squads since, the aim has been to push towards qualification for the World Championships for the first time. Over the last 2 years the squad has trained regularly in Edinburgh, travelled for training camps and tournaments in England and The Netherlands, and has been fortunate to benefit from training with both PKC and TOP - two top level korfball clubs in The Netherlands. All those who have been a part of the training and development squads throughout this time have given a huge level of commitment.

October Approaches

The IKF European Korfball Championship will take place from 13th - 21st October, with Scotland in Pool D alongside Hungary, Serbia and Wales. A full schedule can be viewed here.

Your Support

The Scotland Squad are grateful to anyone who can support our campaign at the European Championship. We are looking for financial support towards the costs of attending the 9 day event in The Netherlands, which is funded by the players.

In addition, we want to raise awareness of our attendance at the Championships, and get as many korfball and non-korfball fans backing us from the stands or computer screens (live streaming will be available) to help us push towards our goal and show the korfball world what Scotland are capable of!

Event - Saturday 29th September

We will be holding a Fundraising Evening on Saturday 29th September in Edinburgh, from 7.30pm at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar. The evening will include a quiz, raffle and private bar - we would love to have as many people there as possible to say thank you in advance for your support during the European Championships. Keep an eye on this page for the addition of raffle tickets.

Thank You

A huge "Thank You" is extended to all those who have contributed to getting us this far, both on court and off.

We are all #TeamScotland and can't wait for the next step.
