Hello and thank you for stopping by,
I’m a Belgian freelance photographer who relocated to Scotland in 2014. During the past 6 years, I have discovered so many beautiful places in my adoptive country and learned a lot too about the local history, which is also a passion of mine. I'm fortunate to already have visited so many places here in Scotland and to create some lovely landscape photographs of the beautiful Scottish sceneries.
I have a big photography project to promote the natural beauty of Scotland but I was never able to move forward with it as I needed so much time and money to do it on the side of my main business activity (portraiture, weddings, vacation photoshoots and photo workshops).
Now, considering the actual pandemic situation, my business -which is all about contact with people- is at the lowest level it has ever been... weddings are on-hold or reduced to a very minimum amount of guests, people can barely travel so no vacation photoshoots either. But, as I want to always remain positive, more especially during these weird times we are going through, I do believe it could never be a better time to do so as I have now all the time needed and most locations to take photographs of are empty of tourists.
My photography project, called 'Scotland 365', is a journey around Scotland, including all islands, during the four seasons of the year, to create a huge library of stunning photographs. After one year, at the end of the project, the library should contain 2000+ stunning high-resolution photos. To do something like that as a part-time project would probably take around 10 years.
The only serious trouble I have is about the funding to make this project become a reality. I did an estimation and it will cost me roughly between £10,000 and £12,000 (GBP) to fully bring this project to life. The expenses during the following 12 months will be mostly travel costs (Car petrol, ferries connecting to the islands, minimal accommodations when working far North or on the islands...) but also a full-year membership with the two historical associations owning most of the castles and other historic landmarks, a full year of mechanic assistance coverage for the car…
So, here I am starting my Crowdfunding campaign. If you wish to share this page as wide as possible, it will also be very appreciated of course. Thank you for that too!
Raising £10,000-£12,000 is huge... It's a lot of money but the good thing is I don't need to have it all before starting touring around the Country and take photographs. As soon as I reach the £2,500 level, I can start the project.
Like any other Crowdfunding project, you’ll have several support options available. When raising money for a big project like that, there is no “too small” support you can receive. Every little help is truly and genuinely appreciated to the highest level.
Thank you very much for your support.
There are already a few hundreds of photographs in the first library I started with Scottish landscapes. Anyone licensing a picture with a digital download or buying a canvas or a print of the already available images at AlbaPictures.Com will also contribute to the fundraising for this project. Another easy way to help me moving forward and for you, to directly get something in return.
