Provide better marketing and put it towards a run after VAULT Festival.

‘SCAB’, written by Luke Stapleton, will be the second project developed by Metamorph. The first was ‘The Good Landlord’ by Michael Ross, a dark comedy that interrogates and satirises the struggles of Generation Rent. The show premiered at VAULT Festival in February 2019, and was later performed in July 2019 as part of Playmill Festival at the King’s Head Theatre. The show received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike, and is due to be developed in preparation for a run at Edinburgh in 2020.

Set in a deprived northern town, ‘SCAB’ is a piece of storytelling performed by one actor.

Walking home after a night shift, a young working class man reluctantly performs an act of goodwill for older man lying injured outside a pub. What begins as a comedic commentary on social responsibility develops into an exploration of loneliness, trauma and family as the young man embarks on a journey into the hidden depths of the older man’s life.
