The County Music Bar is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues.
Our venue faces closure because while there has been an element of government assistance to the sector, this was designed for a period of time already reached. Moving into May we now face full rental and service charges from the pub company as well as a myriad of charges and ongoing invoices for equipment hire and utilities. It has been made clear that moving forward venues will certainly be one of the last businesses to open post lockdown and even then in a likely restricted form for the foreseeable future.
Your donations will be used to assist in the ongoing maintenance of the building, paying of business bills and all other overheads we face to just remain open (albeit with the doors closed) and to provide a buffer fund for when we do open with restrictions to ensure artists and bands can be paid fully even with limited footfall allowed in to support.
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
