Santiago Bar is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues.
Our venue faces closure because like so many other independent businesses we have been forced to shutdown due to the pandemic. With no income and bills still to pay the future is looking tougher than a woodpeckers lips.
Although the government grants will help it's still not possible to cover all of our overheads with landlords still wanting full payment for rent and insurance.
It's pretty embarrassing having to ask for peoples support in these hard times when so many others are also in need, but needs must.
Any of your donations will be used to towards covering some of the running costs of Santiago Bar to ensure that people can continue to perform and enjoy live music here as they have over the last 18yrs.
It's important that our venues survive through these difficult times or a whole bunch of people could end up missing out on the live music experience.
If we hit our target and can prevent the closure of our venue everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
If by some miracle we do get more support from the government and landlords come to their senses and give us help with rent then we will donate the full amount of money raised to other venues still in need.

Stay safe, look after one another and stay classy from all of us at Santiago Bar.
