Creature Sound is part of a national initiative launched by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of hundreds of independent music venues.
Our venue faces closure because we are a not for profit music venue and homeless drop in run by a completely volunteer crew and have been forced to lose due to the Corona virus.
Your donations will be used to keep the venue running during the virus out break and be ready to open once it's over so we can continue our grassroots work in music and our community outreach projects such as the homeless drop in and showers.
Our venue has to date been self sustainable without any grant funding. Usually our venue gives 100% of the door and 10% of the bar to our bands performers and artists. No hire fees, free full back line, free sound tech and a completely volunteer staff.
We use the remaining bar revenue, revenue from the on site studio and rehearsal rooms to pay the bills and rent. This then allows us to keep the building open for our outreach projects which include the homeless drop in and showers, free workshop and free use for community workshops and the free tour bus we lend and insure for the bands.
We are in desperate need of help to get to the other side so we can continue giving instead of receiving and we would really appreciate any help at this time.
If we hit our target, and we can prevent the closure of our venue, everything above the amount we need will be donated to the Music Venue Trust GMV Crisis Fund to protect other venues just like ours, right across the country.
