Good news and bad news....
First the bad news....
I contacted Savills (the Winkleigh Control Tower receivers) this morning to see if they'd accept an offer on the tower as it's possible we can source alternative funding if they would.
Vanessa Patel, the Portfolio Manager in charge of the Control Tower site refused to consider an offer on the site, stating: "The property has already received a lot of interest in the auction so we would not consider an offer before then."
This despite the fact that the control tower has already failed to sell at auction once! I was also told that there were no contact details for me to speak directly to Lloyds Bank Plc to discuss the possibility of an offer on the site with them.
Also in bad news..... we were told in Winkleigh yesterday that a local resident would like to buy the site and turn it into a fishing lake! I bet Historic England would have something to say to that...
But there is some good news!
Tomorrow I'm scheduled to do interviews with BBC Radio Devon and BBC Spotlight, who both want to do a piece on the tower and our campaign to save it. So keep an ear tuned to the radio, and an eye on the news tomorrow because you should come across us!
Remember to keep sharing our social media posts and talking about the campaign to anyone who'll listen, and thank you for all your support so far.
