I am raising money to help keep The Westminster School of Performing Arts open and to prevent huge increases in fees for students. Angie who is the principal of the school and opened it over 28 years ago has recently received the news that the rent for the school will increase by a proposed, astronomical 400% over the next three years. The school offers classes in Drama, Singing, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Gymnastics, Piano and Street Dance to children of all ages. This school is the pulse to the local community and the children that benefit from the classes will be left with nothing if we don’t do something now. Many families in the area are on low incomes and will be alienated if prices for classes are increased to meet the demand for the new rent structure. Please help us by raising at least £10,000 to ensure minimal cuts to classes, keeping fees “affordable to all” and most importantly keeping it open until other measures and strategies can be put in place. Angie would be heartbroken if she were unable to keep the school open, she has been serving the local children for nearly three decades and there is a great sense of belonging and achievement which is also mirrored within the St Andrews Club house where the school is situated. Please share share share and prevent the unthinkable. In a time where children need safe, positive environments, the loss of this place would affect the lives of so many local children for the worse. Thank you.
