Survive is a specialist organisation working across Bristol and South Gloucestershire that provides an essential service for children and young people who are impacted by domestic violence and abuse. Nationally there are few dedicated children’s services which focus on this and therefore we are desperate to save our service from possible closure. Currently we have a large waiting list of children and young people, who cannot access this support elsewhere. In addition to our existing waiting list, we receive calls and referrals daily from new families in need of support.
We provide 1:1 outreach sessions and deliver two bespoke group programmes, for primary and secondary aged children and young people. Survive also delivers awareness raising courses around healthy relationships and respect across primary and secondary schools with its ‘Connect with Respect’ programme.
Our valuable organisation is at risk of imminent closure due to a lack of funding for basic running costs. We have successfully gained funding from for our frontline staff but without additional funds we are unable to keep the service running.
Our goal is to raise 100K in the next 4 weeks, to prevent closure at the end of April. Please help us to help more children like Georgia, aged 8 who said"..the sessions are fun, they make you feel so much better, if I didn't have these sessions I would be so miserable, I would probably even be depressed but here I could just talk about everything."
