We need to raise funds to get specialist contractors in to repair the grounds from the flood damages over the winter

New stretch target

This money will allow the necessary ground maintenance to be carried out to allow us to provide sports activities to our towns habitants.

After one of the worst winters seen in recent years the ground needs specialist works to be carried out to repair the damage from flooding over the Winter.

Swinton Recreation Ground is the only sports ground in Swinton that provides football pitches for Adults & Junior participants.

We are Swinton Community Sports Ground Trust, acting trustees of the charity 'Swinton Recreation Ground'.

In 2015, after a decade of watching the ground slowly deteriorate and have funding pulled in government budgets, we decided that enough was enough and with the backing of our local councillors, we approached Rotherham Borough Council and proposed that we should take over the trusteeship of the Sports ground on Park Road, Swinton, South Yorkshire, S64 8JH. This was agreed in July 2017

We are a non-profit organisation, who rely on donations, advertising monies from local businesses and ground hire fees to service our utility bills, maintenance costs and scheduled improvements.

The pandemic COVID-19, and the subsequent lock down which has meant a stop on all ground rental income to the trust which, with our continued outgoings and operational costs means the trust is in a somewhat precarious financial position.

We are a small group of volunteers, but we need to make up the shortfall to keep the grounds open and ensure the essential maintenance work is carried out through the closed season.

The ground has been used for numerous charity events in the past.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
