We are raising money to help us demonstrate to the RSPCA and the courts that I am a responsible dog owner.
On Ocotober 15th 2015 our dogs were accused of attacking a cat. The RSPCA therefore decided to take me to court accusing me of teaching my dogs to attack cats.
You may not be aware but the RSPCA does not have to present their evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) before taking people to court. In all other court trails the CPS decides whether or not there is enough evidence to take people to court. So you often seen innocent, loving pet owners being dragged in front of judge and jury fearing for the lives of their pets.
My family and I have tried to secure legal aid but we are waiting for an appeal on this decision. In the meantime we have to start preparing our case so our beloved dogs are not taken away from us, or worse, destroyed.
Our lawyer has said that we need to get the dogs assessed as a first step. This will cost £2500 that we just don't have. If anyone thinks that the RSPCA is misusing the money that generous supporters (like me and my family!) have donated then we would appreciate any support you can give.
I am a stay at home mother with a daughter sitting her GCSEs and my husband is a mechanic. We cannot believe we are in this situation, having to ask for support but we hope that you understand that we love our pets and will do anything to make sure that they stay with us and are safe.
