Jak is a young dog (3 years old) Who is close to blind due to cataracts in both eyes, and desperately needs an operation to save his sight.
He is a very loving young fella who loves life and people, and has always enjoyed running swimming and coastal path walking... Obviously for him to go totally blind at such a young age would be devastating to his quality of life and the outcome for him if left untreated could be the onset of glaucoma and possible eye removal which does not bare thinking about for such a young dog.
The condition he has is hereditary and irreversible unless he has a double cataract operation to remove them and replace the lenses, the good thing is that it should restore his sight as it has an 85/90% success rate.
The problem is that the operation is very expensive (£2600 to £2800) and as such the PDSA,Dogs trust or RSPCA can't help.
We just can stand by and watch him go totally blind and lose his lust for life so we are trying to raise money towards this life changing operation, maybe you can help us to restore his sight and let a young dog run again, any help in this aim would be very much appreciated, Thanks for your time.
