I love George. I could not watch the way that he suffered in Cyprus, and I cannot sit back and watch him die now. He has come so far, purring every step of the way. But now we are faced with a hurdle that I can't get him over on my own.
Please - I need your help to Save George..
What's the problem you can help with?
George was a skinny, frightened street cat from Cyprus. He was starving, lonely and afraid, living by dirty bins amongst the rubbish. I spent my holiday feeding and cuddling this beautiful cat, who repaid me with unconditional affection and an unbreakable bond. I fought against all odds to bring him safely back to the UK. But George's struggle continues – last night George became ill. The vet discovered he has a Diaphragm Rupture, caused by being hit by a car in Cyprus. With the weight of his organs flung into his chest and lungs, he is slowly suffocating. As I love and feed him, and as he trots about with his new-found energy, we place his little lungs under further pressure, robbing him of the life he deserves. He needs an urgent operation, costing £3,500 which his insurance will not pay for - please, I beg you, will anybody out there help us?
Why should you care about this?
George is the most beautiful and affectionate cat I have ever met - to be with him melts your heart. He deserves a chance to live a happy, healthy life with a family who love him. We have come so far - across Cyprus on a bus to the vets, hitch-hiking when I had to, and I have spent every penny I have, from buying his passport to his flight to the UK. I cannot bear the thought that this all may all be for nothing, and that George is not destined to live. Please help me Save George.
How will the money be spent?
The operation needs to happen urgently. It will involve moving George's organs - his stomach, kidneys, liver and intestines - away from his chest, where they are currently crushing his tiny lungs and stopping him from breathing, back to his abdomen. His collapsed diaphragm will be repaired to protect the space around his lungs. This was destroyed when George was hit by that car. The operation is a serious and expensive one, which must be done by experts - but it will save his life.
My Heartfelt Plea
George is no ordinary cat. He is extremely special. I wish I could save him alone, but it pains me to say I can't. I wish I didn't have to write these words, but I am asking because George cannot - please, please, make a donation, big or small, to help end the suffering that this poor little cat has and continues to endure. Help him to enjoy the years he has left in a warm and happy home, and to send a message to the world that everything deserves life - even street cats. Please, please donate.
