My family and I found Casper 7 years ago battered and bruised on his last legs in our back garden. He was clearly beaten and extremely scared. We took him in with the aim of cleaning him up and rehoming him. It didn't quite work out like that. We fell in love with him and 7 years later we need your help. Casper was running in the field as he loves to do, he turned sharply, as always but this time he cried out. His back left foot was clearly limp and he collapsed. Having rushed home and taken him to the vets they confirmed upon first site that it was definitley broken. They then proceeded with the following options, Amputation £1000, Vetinary treatment £1500 - £2500 and rehab or put him down. Casper loves running about, its his favourite thing, so Amputation. is not my favourite option, I would like to get the leg repaired. Now I'm not even considering the other option. I have 4 children that would never talk to me again if I took that option, to put an otherwise healthy dog to sleep due to lack of funds. Now I have tried all the usual help, rspca, pdsa and blue cross all to no avail, I have tried unsuccessfully to get a payment plan at the vets but 6 weeks before Christmas I'm admitting I need help. Any money that is not used will go to one of the charities mentioned. This is embarrassing but is testament to the state of the system. Thank uou for reading.
