Herne Hill will never be the same without Cafe Provencal. I hope with all my heart you make it through this very difficult time. Thames Water - this is a travesty. Can we get the media involved? Would be good to put Thames Water on the spot, while also getting the cafe some publicity.

Without the Café Prov, Herne Hill would be distinctly provincial. Come on, Thames Water!

Herne Hill would not be the same without you!

Cafe Prov has been a feature of Herne Hill for the 27 years I lived there (and more). Thames Water should be ashamed of themselves.

You are the heart of herne hill and I still have happy memories of garlic chips! I really hope a last push enables you to stay as it would be unbearable to get a Starbucks or some other horrible chain. Shame on Thames water. Good luck.

Though I don't live near Cafe Provencal, I have been there a few times over the years (I used to work up Milkwood Road) and enjoyed some excellent meals. I feel sad and angry that you are victims of a flood, which was not a natural disaster, but the responsibility of THAMES WATER. You run a lovely community restaurant and it would be very sad if you had to close. I do hope enough support comes your way to enable you to stay open. The very best of luck.

Moved from Herne Hill 6 years ago. We spent many, many happy nights in Cafe Prov. Adam you once gave me a CD of your amazing Cafe Prov music. Here's payment for it a little down the line... Good Luck. Keep Fighting...

What would we do without Cafe Prov? Everything a neighbourhood restaurant should be.

We have lived in Herne Hill for over 30 years, so have come to Café Provencal since the beginning - always a good place to come to and is an institution of Herne Hill. Mike and Liz

Cafe Provencal is a cafe and community institution in Herne Hill on the border of Southwark and Lambeth boroughs. It has, over the years, maintained a high quality offer with delicious meals at reasonable prices and fantastic ambience, decor and attentive service. I have many fond memories of eating at Cafe Prov (including leaving supposedly superior restaurants with duff service to go there) and for it go under through no fault of its own would be an utter disaster for the local community. I call on all local residents to donate what they can to preserve this cherished community institution. Thanks.

Was good to talk to you today to find out the facts behind this. I'm so sorry that this has happened to a long standing and reputable business, and also worried to hear that so many others are close to going the same way too. This shouldn't be happening, but am happy to support, and will spread the word. Lots of luck!

Can't believe the pain this flood caused and how that is still being felt 2 years on. Should not be this way. Good luck.

Good luck with the funding required. Such a shame that all the businesses affected are struggling or closed down. It may be a good idea to contact Ofwat, the water regulator, Thames Water should not get away with this!
