It's absolutely splendid to see Birmingham Museums are doing such an amazing work and I am very much looking forward to seeing Sarehole Mill again this year! P.S. And it's an added bonus to any Tolkien fan to have a look around :)

I wonder if you've thought about fitting some sort of grille to the outflow to catch large debris and prevent a recurrence of the problem. Flooding is hopefully rare, but it's unlikely to be a unique event.

The final donation to reach the stretch target!!! Very excited to get the mill back in action and can't wait to bake with the flour!

I grew up on Sarehole Road back in the 1970,s and 80,s, my back garden backed onto the park and I have many happy memories. A couple of years ago I took my children to the mill and they loved the place as much as I do so when I saw your request on Midlands today I had to help. I hope my family and many other families can make some lovely memories to treasure in the future.

The Tolkien Society 5th February 2019

The Trustees of The Tolkien Society are very pleased to be able to support Birmingham Museums Trust's Sarehole Mill, with the Mill team's project to restore the water wheel and return the Mill to flour-milling again, given JRR Tolkien's childhood links to the Mill and the surrounding area.

Louise Meakin 5th February 2019

I've lived near the mill for most of my life, visited it frequently at primary school - hoping others will now get the same wonderful experiences I was lucky enough to have!
