"I am running, so they don't have to!" Raising money to help with the costs associated with fostering and rehoming of ex-racing greyhounds

Since Norris, our white and black greyhound entered our lives three years ago (he is now 13), Greyhounds have taken over our life...... and our house! We now have three of these amazingly odd animals, two of which came from an organisation called 'Give a Greyhound a Home' who have a network of foster homes (we are one of them) and forever homes throughout Scotland. Have a look at www.gagah.co.uk

Starting on Saturday 29 June 2019, I am running St. Cuthberts Ultra Marathon, from Lindesfarne to Melrose Abbey, a distance of 63 miles, climbing over 3000ft, to help raise awareness and money for these majestic and loveable animals...… this is a tough one! It is my second attempt, (as last year I was pulled out 5 miles from the end) and this time with YOUR support and encouragement I will give it another go!

GAGAH do an amazing job at taking most of their rescue greyhounds direct from racing kennels and trainers and getting them into comfy foster homes, where our fosterers look after them, get them healthy, neutered, vaccinated and normally some dental work and then eventually these 'couch potatoes' find their forever home.

All the money raised from me running a stupid amount of miles will go towards GAGAH's vet bills and foster costs. GAGAH is a not-for-profit organisation, nobody gets paid, we do it because we love these animals and believe they need some love in return.

Got an idea like this?

Our crowd has raised over £70 million for bright ideas and good causes.
