Pope Francis has inspired the local Parish Priest in Gorton, Manchester, to give up his large presbytery in favour of a small and humble flat.
The space that is free'd up will be given over to the community, and to the Parish community project, SAFE which aims to provide a safe, friendly, inspirational place that encourages, affirms and challenges the local community.
You can read more about the project on the Independent Catholic News site, and you can find more out about SAFE in the video below, and by checking out the SAFE page of our website www.catholicgorton.org/safe-parish-mission/
£15,000 will enable us to do a third of the work, allowing us to make a good start on the building work. Any money given above that amount will go towards completing the project. If any money is generously given over the whole project cost, it will go into funding other SAFE projects for the community in Gorton.
