Who are the SA Wild Dogs:

The SA Wild Dogs are a distinctive 7’s, 10’s & Beach rugby team that originally consisted of players whose roots stemmed from various parts of Southern Africa. Today we have representation from 17 countries including the home nations. Whilst we are currently an amateur team, a number of our players have earned their representative colours and played rugby at provincial & International levels. This gives us the ability to play a skilful and entertaining brand of rugby that the SA Wild Dogs have become well known for.

Our journey began in 2017 when we were invited by the European Beach Rugby Association (EBRA) to represent South Africa in the final leg of the EBRA series in Lignano Sabbaidoro, Italy.  The popularity of the SA Wild Dogs at the tournament ultimately saw us invited back to compete the following year and has seen us consistently finish in the top 4 teams making us a force to be reckoned with on the sand in Europe.

We have since chosen to build on our success by expanding our tournament fixtures over the years to include more formats of the game, namely 7s & 10s & Tag Rugby.  Today we compete all over the world at multiple levels ranging from Social to Elite & Vets rugby.

Our Vision for the future:

Our vision for the future sees us competing regularly with a mixed level of teams including Elite on the 7s, 10s, tag and beach rugby circuits. We are also working hard on adding a ladies netball team to our ever growing family.

More so than just rugby and netball we see ourselves giving back to our communities by utilising our vast network, from helping our members find work, hosting kids coaching clinics, potentially birthing a new amateur 15s rugby club within the South West of London and of course supporting a number of charities including our chosen charity the Bokamoso Education Trust through our yearly fundraising efforts.

Ultimately if we can compete on the field at multiple levels while having fun and tackling both physical and mental health we will be happy.

Why we need your help:

COVID has hit all of our sponsors hard & whilst they are still on board, we have had to move what's left of 2020's sponsorship into 2021. We have also not been able to reach the level of sponsorship that we have had previously. Although we only competed in 1 tournament in 2020, our early long term team investments (Including Gazebos, Kit, Training & playing equipment; Medical Supplies etc.) as well as our usual operating costs that have not changed. We are therefore looking to supplement our sponsorship pot and we need your help.

SA Wild Dogs outside of rugby:

For the past few we have supported a number of charities including Save The Rhino & Bokamoso Education Trust UK (Charity providing financial support for the education of over 60 children in South Africa). Bokamoso has become the charity that we have worked most closely with and to date we have raised over £15,000.00 for them and counting.
