Russell James fell ill on Sunday 18th December and was rushed to hospital with a severe bleed on the brain. He has been in intensive care since under the watchful eye of the doctors and nurses at St Georges Hospital, having had an operation with potentially more to come he is being monitored with more tests being done all the time to try and decipher what's happened and what the next step on the road to recovery is.
The man himself - I can't underestimate how much of a good guy Russ is, one of the nicest, funniest, thoughtful guys i've ever met both at work (at Secret Escapes HQ) inspiring the world to travel and socially with his never ending supply of funny stories, he can never do enough for you. A popular guy anywhere you go and someone who not only adores his two children, knows all the words to the Disney hit 'Let it Go' and doesnt let us forget it but also strives at work to be and do the best for the company. He's always there for anyone with advice and help which I experience on a daily basis as i have the pleasure of sitting opposite him, whether its work related, obscure 1980's music or exotic, and not so exotic food although hes not much of a table tennis player (he'll hate me for saying that) but he gives it his best shot which is all we can ask for - need to work on that return serve buddy.
Please help - help us support him and his family of 2 lovely young kids who are understandably shocked and devastated, let's help take some of that pressure off by donating anything you can, nothing is too small or too big so please help a wonderful family.
