Rural Arts is a registered charity that delivers inspiring and inclusive creative opportunities that enrich lives and connect communities.
We provide over 400 events and activities each year at our community arts centre in Thirsk, which is also home to an award-winning café, a gallery shop and rooms to hire. We programme 70 performances per year in rural venues and lead a range of wellbeing and employment programmes to support vulnerable and isolated people across 3,500 square miles.
Coronavirus has hit Rural Arts hard. We closed on 16th March and tentatively reopened on 11th August, almost 5 months to the day later.
In that time, our income for the period dropped £150,000. We have used all Government initiatives to reduce our expenses and recoup some income, however we are still faced with a shortfall at the end of the financial year.
We have made multiple, large applications to current and new funders however competition is very high, and we've yet to hear back. This is why we need your help to survive.
We're looking to raise £4,300 to ensure our future, and to keep enriching lives and connecting communities across North Yorkshire.
